It’s Thursday, which means the weekend is almost upon us!
Nothing feels more glorious than driving away from work on a Friday evening. I usually peel maniacally out of the parking lot with the windows down and music cranked, yelling, “Latah, Suckahs!”
Not really. I normally walk casually to my car after having wished my coworkers a “Have a good weekend!” or exchanged the obligatory, “Any plans this weekend?” I may exchange an awkward high five and “Happy Friday!” as well, but that’s about as crazy as it gets.
I look forward to the weekend, mostly because I’m a sucker for brunch. Having time to make brunch and enjoy it leisurely is one of my favorite Saturday activites. Eating brunch OUT is one of my favorite Sunday activities.
Last fall I discovered Drip Cafe in Hockessin, Delaware and I’ve been back at least four times since then. Mostly because the food is excellent, but also because the owner sources ingredients locally (Lancaster Farm Fresh is a supplier).
So far my favorite dishes are the Kale and Bacon Potato Hash and the Caramel Apple Pancakes. Okay, so I have two favorite dishes. But the food’s not the only reason to visit. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and pleasantly picky about the way they brew coffee.
As far as brunch goes, Drip Cafe earns high praise from both my local, organic sensibilities and my taste buds.
So tell me, are you a sucker for brunch, too? Do you prefer to cook at home or eat out? On a related note, are you a Bloody Mary or a Mimosa kind of person?
