In a perfect world, when I can’t blog due to busyness or vacation, I would have a draft folder full of well-thought-out and well-crafted posts to present to you, my dear readers.
The world is not perfect.
But I am going on vacation.
So I’m hanging up my laptop in exchange for sunscreen, cocktails, and the best food around. I’ll be eating my way across New England and Chicago over the next week, so I won’t be posting much.
In the meantime, if you’re a Delawarean, get your local fix by visiting the brand new farm stand at Bayberry Farm in Middletown. Toby, the farmer, has fruits and veggies on display for you to buy honor-system style–starting today. Check out his facebook page for details and updates.
Or if you’re in the Glasgow area, visit the all-new Glasgow Park Farmers Market (2 to 6 pm on Fridays). According to this article, they have a produce vendor, meat vendor (Powers Farm – they are great!), and honey products from Gage Family Beekeeping. I’ll be visiting when I return to give you the full scoop.
Until then, I’ll be thinking of you as I take glamour shots of every delicious meal I eat.

Disclaimer: I stole the Gone Eatin’ title from fellow blogger and friend, Jules from Go Jules Go, who hung up a “Gone Drinkin'” sign over at her blog this week. She even mentioned ME in the post. Click here to see how I’ll be spending part of my vacation. Happy Drinking Vacationing to you, Jules!
Rachel,
Enjoy your time off. Eat well, rest well, play well, and other “well” things I can’t think of at this very moment…Speak soon.

Have a delicious vacation.
So Delaware is a real place?? Wow! Have fun on vacation. A Chicago style pizza and an Al’s beef sammy sounds pretty darned good right now.
Rachey Poo! I’m kicking Ed out of the bed tonight. Now it’s just down to Uncle Jesse and me. Who will win your affection? (Just remember Uncle Jesse sucks at making omelets.)
I want to spoon with both of you.
How will we live without you?!!?! Just kidding. Have a wonderful vacation! Eat well 🙂
Thank you, Melissa! I’ll be back soon. 🙂
Where in New England will you be? I’m from Massachusetts. 🙂
I’m from MA too!! South of Boston–Bridgewater and then Plymouth. How about you?
I live in Amherst, MA! But I lived in Boston for many years. We just spent this weekend in the North Shore at Plum Island and then in Rockport. Yummy “lobstahs” were had by all. 🙂
Have fun on your vay-cay! I too shall be eating and drinking but alas I will be doing it from the comfort of my home. Can’t wait for your food porn glamour shots upon your return!
Eat a lobster roll, or five, for me! And fresh blueberries!
I’ve had a lobster roll every day. Do blueberry pancakes and scones count?
That totally counts. Now if you can just find some blueberry ice cream, you’ll have hit the trifecta.
I don’t know if you made it to Chicago yet, but if you haven’t, check out SuperDawg! Not the healthiest food but a cool place to pig out on hot dawns!
