I’ve Been Freshly Pegged

freshlypegged2

Pegged as what?

Insane and nutso.

And a darn good hot pepper eater.

Peg from Peg-o-Leg’s Ramblings is featuring my Peppermeister Roulette video for her series, “Freshly Pegged: THIS one should have been Freshly Pressed.” For those of you not in the WordPress world, being Freshly Pressed is a big deal. The intelligent, creative, hard-working editors at WordPress choose a few posts each day to highlight on their extra special Freshly Pressed page. It’s quite an honor.

It’s also quite an honor to be featured on Freshly Pegged.

And even more of an honor to be referred to as insane and nutso by Peg. When the video first debuted on my blog, Peg made this characteristically hilarious comment:

I can’t believe you did that. You are inSANE! I can’t even do one, teeny, schmeazly jalapeno. You are my hero and/or you need psychiatric help.

If I tried eating those, I would be totally red and blotchy, and would have snot running down my face. How could you still look great while doing that? (What little of you I could see peaking beyond that freakishly large thumb that was blocking practically the whole, entire lens.)

Her comment pretty much sums up what you’ll see on the video, so head on over to Peg-o-Leg’s Ramblings to take a look at an insane, nutso video of me eating hot peppers.*

Thank you to Peppermeister for this screen shot and the hot peppers

I’ll be your pepper hero, Peg!

Make the World More Awesome

I’m diverging from regular blog topics, because it’s the weekend!

If you aren’t one of the over 5 million people that have viewed Kid President on You Tube, you’re welcome.

I’m planning to have my own dance party of awesomeness this weekend (more about that next week). What’s on your agenda?

Suggestion: Watch Space Jam or another one of my favorite Kid President videos:

Let’s Taste Some Wine!

Rachel’s Table Local Red Wine Challenge

Join me as I blind taste test some local wines from Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Virginia!

{Disclaimer and Spoiler Alert (watch the riveting video first to see which wine gets my highest rating): Seeing as I could not find a local Zinfandel (this type of vine does not exist in the mid-Atlantic states), I chose to compare the California Zinfandels with simple red table wines. In all fairness to the local wineries, maybe their reds could not compete with the bold flavor profiles in those California Zinfandels. I know that Chaddsford Winery in Pennsylvania makes lovely wines, like their 2007 Merican. However, at $39.99 a bottle, I’d choose a better priced California wine every single time. So when it comes to wines, I’m more local-ish than locavore, but at least I’m keeping it in the good old U.S. of A….right?}

If you’d like to conduct your own Local Red Wine Challenge with friends, feel free to use the classy rating method below, meticulously researched and painstakingly crafted by yours truly. I’m off to finish off those bottles! Cheers!

Patent Pending

Let’s Play Peppermeister Roulette

When playing Truth or Dare as a precocious middle schooler, I would ALWAYS take the dare. With gusto.

Things haven’t changed…

(Disclaimer: yes, my husband videographer filmed this vertically instead of horizontally. I’m taking applications for a new husband,  any iPhone user, videographer until 8 pm (EST). A steady hand and ability to edit all content down to a more acceptable two minutes are a must.)

Next week, I’ll knock your ‘stache glasses off with recipes using Peppermeister’s homegrown peppers.

Peppermeister, can you tell me the names of these peppers? I dare you to send me something HOTTER!
